27th May,2008. Another glorious day in the running of Eso Kichu Kori. Day of rejoice, day of remembrance, day of further pledge for new challenge. This day is special due to the 2nd celebration of EKK’s prime projects MEDHA & SOPAN.

When I reached Bangla Academy Hall with my wife at about11.30 A.M the place was filled with bubbling & cheerful noises alaround. On one side I could see  already distinguished visitors started coming & the other side  our beloved students from Rural Bemgal sitting  with their parents. Their lean & thin body were aglowing with sparkling eyes of self confidence & internal fire of strong will & dedication. EKK’s volunteers were found giving the finishing touch to the various activities of function.

Distinguished guests came almost in time. They were Professor Siddharta Dutta, Pro V.C Jadavpur University; Sri Rajat Bandyapadhyay, Registrar,Jadavpur University; Prof Sanjit Setua,Professor of Computer Science,Calcutta University & Professor Satyabrata Chowdhury, Ex Principal Bangabasi College.
The function started sharply at 12 ‘O’ clock under the anchorship of our ever charming & enthusiastic Madhumita. As President of the organisation I had to give the welcome address ,however sitting on the dias is very much uncomfortable for me. The function followed meticulously as per program like garlanding of the guests, followed by Invocation song, President’s welcome address & the addresses of four distinguished guests. All the speakers spoke briefly in their fashion the utility of such functions & praised our activities with open heart & expressed their whole hearted support in their best possible ways.

A brief presentation about the EKK’s activities were made by Madhumita & Koushik Mukherjee which enlightened all the guests & our young budding students of future.

Then the main attraction of  function started  with the distribution of certificate of excellence to the receipients of MEDHA & SOPAN  award. A total of 31 students received Medha & lone Biplab Bhui from Bankura received Sopan award. This was a real memorable moment for all of us. All the guests talked encouragingly to the various receipients during the Certificate presentation.
The meeting concluded with vote of thanks.

During the meeting Madhumita announced a good news of receiving Sponsorship for our projects from a big company. However the modus operandi & other details are yet  to be worked out at a later date between us. It is really a heartening news & a recognition to our humble effort.
The awardee students & their guardians were entertained with good food for lunch after the function.
In fine I would like to thank all the members of Eso Kichu Kori for their untiring success for making this function allround success.  I would fail in  my duty if I don’t mention the untiring efforts & total guidance given by Abira before proceeding to Delhi for Onkar’s treatment. We all missed them very badly. We all pray for Onkar’s speedy recovery.

I returned home very pleased & satisfied in my heart & being proud to be the President of such Organisation.
While returning to home im Taxi I was singing Rabindranath’s that famous song from Gitanjali,
I have had my invitation to this world’s festival,
and thus my life has been blessed.My eyes have seen
and my ears have heard.

               It was my part at this feast to play upon
my instrument, and I have done all I could.
       Now,I ask,has the time come at last
when I may go in and see thy face and offer thee
my silent salutation?
