Felicitation Ceremony for the beneficiaries of 2007 was held on 29th July 2007 at ACADEMY SABHAGHAR, Poschim Bongo Bangla Academy.

A Day to Remember for a Lifetime

It was the "One" we all were looking forward to. It took us exactly 1 year & 1 month to finally witness it in reality.

And it came and went – just like another beautiful day under the sun. But 29th July 2007 left all of us filled with such an unprecedented experience that can only be matched by a "no-match". A day to permanently etch in memory, an experience to carry throughout a single life & share with all others who couldn't be part of this auspicious day

It was the big day for "Eso Kichu Kori". We were to reward the meritorious students of West Bengal who had been unable to continue their study due to poor economical background despite magnificent results in Madhyamik & Higher Secondary Examinations. The champions of the day – many of the students came much earlier. Their punctuality was amazing. That also made the introduction cum registration phase much easier and hassle-free for the volunteers.

The program arranged at "Academy Sabhaghar" of "Poschimbongo Bangla Academy" took off sharp at 12.05 p.m. with just a delay of 5 minutes from the scheduled time. It took another few minutes to welcome the guests with bouquets.

At the very beginning of the main program, we took oath to simply put – 'Do Better' by the lines of Rabindranath Tagore – "Aaguner Poroshmoni Chhnoao Praane…."

Then guest addresses followed beginning from that of Dr. Asim Gupta (President, EKK) and followed by Madhumita Dutta (Vice President, EKK), Chief Guest – Prof. Suranjan Das (Pro Vice Chancellor [Academic], Calcutta University), Guest of Honour - Prof Manimala Das (Principal, Bethune College) and Special Guest - Shri Rajat Bandopadhyay (Registrar, Jadavpur University).

Finally, it was time for Scholarship distribution and this time we were bang on target according to the scheduled – 1.00 p.m. The students were called one by one and scholarships in the form of all the books for std. XI, exercise books, practical exercise books, pens, pencils, erasers, scientific calculators and bags were handed over to them. Certificates of Merit were also awarded to the "Medha" and "Sopan" candidates.

The amazing part was still not over…. we were successfully able to wind up the entire process well before the scheduled 2.25 p.m…..at 1.30 p.m!!!!!

As nature calls, all were getting hungry by that time. And lunch packs were already there for all the students and accompanies. Many of them had to return to remote places of Bengal. So we had to bid them adieu and promise to meet again.

It gave us tremendous satisfaction to see all of them beaming with joyful eyes. The smile would never go off, that is all we could expect now

"Eso Kichu Kori" has shaped from a mere community to the first meeting of unknowns at the premises of Madhusudan Mancha to 29th July 2007. The journey was never meant to be an easy one, but not insurmountable too. The members of "Eso Kichu Kori" have proved it again that without dreams, nothing was achievable, is achievable and will be achievable.

We all dreamt to create a wonderful, dreamy house. The first wall is complete now. And according to Pink Floyd, we could define today as just "Another Brick In The Wall".

Long live Dreams!!!!

"And miles to go before we sleep, and miles to go…."
