President

Dr Ashim Gupta is a man of science. After completing his Ph.D in applied chemistry from Calcutta University, he started his career as a teacher and thereafter joined one of the renowned public sector units in West Bengal. On his retirement from service as the Chief Engineer, Dr. Gupta involved himself in various social causes. He successfully carried out an effort to donate and acquire funds from Indian citizens residing abroad and helped poor students to continue their higher education. His efforts paid rich dividends and EKK is honoured to have him as the President who wishes to provide guidance through his well heeled experience.

Vice President

Madhumita Datta is a prominent journalist and is presently associated with one of the renowned newspapers as its Chief Reporter. This former student of Journalism and Mass communication is a prolific writer on contemporary issues and is acclaimed for giving enormous coverage of financially challenged brilliant students from nook and corners of West Bengal in the media. With her data base for exceptionally commendable students from all over Bengal, she geared up in making a documentary film named “TARADER KATHA” (story of the stars) which won huge acclamation form the Bengali intelligentsia. The name of the Society ESO KICHU KORI has its roots from an awareness campaign for such poor students, initiated by her, in an internet community.

Secretary

Abira Ghosh is a young energetic lady.Her steadfast commitment towards society is prominent from her activities. She has a long list of remarkable activities and achievements towards promotion of Health and Envioronment related community based programmes. The famous environment awareness programme for school students , "Be a friend of nature" ( "Prokritir Bondhu Hao" ) was her brain child and implemented successfully in her leadership. This lady with innovative ideas and untiring working capacity is always an asset for any organisation. Eso Kichu Kori is proud to have her as the founder member secretary.

Treasurer

Sreya Sen is a teacher by profession and is presently in charge of the Department of Food & Nutrition in one of the leading colleges of Kolkata. After completing her Masters from Calcutta University, she started her professional life as a Dietician in a renowned Hospital in Kolkata and then shifted to academics within a year. Other than her interests in Rabindra Sangeet and Philanthropy, she is presently pursuing research work on food & nutrition for a PhD from Calcutta University.

Joint Secretary

If you want to revisit the golden era of Bengali modern song , you have to sit with Tilak Gupta. He is a gem of a person. His level of comfort with all kinds of Bengali songs is simply astonishing. He is a man of and for melody. This technical consultant of a software distribution company spends his leisure for the welfare of the society at large. It is really a privilege to have a personality like him as the Joint Secretary of EKK.

Chief Coordinator

Rituparna Sen is Assistant Professor of statistics at University of California in Davis. She obtained her PhD from University of Chicago.Her area of research is applications of statistics in finance. She did B. Stat.(gold medalist) and M. Stat. from the Indian Statistical Institute. She ranked 8th (1st among girls) in Madhyamik 1991. She has a Sangeet Visharad degree in hindustani classical music. She lives in Davis with her husband Prabuddha Chakraborty who is a Physicist and two-year old daughter Brishti.

Executive Members

Born in rural Bengal, Tirthankar Ghosh spent the early part of his life in a small township away from Kolkata. He has been associated with various welfare activities, either personally or in groups, for many years. Tirthankar brings to the executive body of EKK many experiences of executing community development projects. Tirthankar is currently attached to a consulting firm. His experience will necessarily benefit the planning and activities of EKK.

Sympathy towards economically challenged students brought Subhrangsu Chakravarty to EKK. Always classifying himself as another imperfect human being” he is otherwise perfect in his compassion for social growth of poor meritorious students. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant as well as a Cost Accountant and is presently working with one of the major software companies in India.

Rituparna Sen is an MBA professional born & brought up in Assam. Currently she is based in Kolkata & is associated with one of the largest media houses of the country. Music & Theatre are her passions. She is also a voracious reader & loves traveling.

Biplab Sarkar is a very enthusiastic young journalist and is presently associated with one of the renowned newspapers as its Deputy Chief Reporter. in Kolkata. He has the experience in working with several International survey teams. His loyalty to the society has reflected in his contributions in Tribal welfare and activities for the betterment of lives of street children. Presently, he is actively associated with several organisations working for environment.
